FAQ
Common questions
What's your background?
I come from a background in business. I have worked in finance and as a chief of staff alongside high-performing executives in high-stress environments, so I understand what it feels like to come from a world where pressures exist, and vulnerability is seen as a weakness, not a strength. I come from a world where it is expected that men should not be emotional. I have gone on my own journey to this work, challenging and exploring these things, but I also appreciate them for how formative and important they are within our society. Lastly, I have travelled a lot, through 55 countries, so I have a very open mind to diverse cultures, and love learning about new values and perspectives on life.
What does it cost?
The first 15-minute call is free. From there, sessions are $160 (couples $180), 50 minutes. Many extended-health plans reimburse psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist, and you'll get a receipt with the registration number to submit to your insurer. (OHIP doesn't cover psychotherapy.)
Are Registered Psychotherapists covered by insurance in Ontario?
OHIP doesn't cover psychotherapy, but many Ontario extended health and workplace benefit plans reimburse it. Coverage depends on your specific plan, the key is whether it covers a "Registered Psychotherapist." You pay for the session and receive a detailed receipt (with the registration number) to submit to your insurer.
Do you work with executives and entrepreneurs?
Yes. Jordan works with executives, entrepreneurs, business owners, and other men carrying significant responsibility. What matters isn't the job title, it's that you're often the one others rely on, and that can quietly get heavy.
What happens in a first session?
The first step is a free 15-minute call, a relaxed conversation to see if we're a fit, with no pressure to have anything figured out. From there, full sessions are an open, unhurried space to talk through what's going on.
Do I need to be experiencing burnout to come to therapy?
No. You don't need a specific problem, a diagnosis, or a crisis to come to therapy. Some men arrive with burnout, anger, or anxiety; others simply notice that the way they're carrying things isn't working the way it used to. Noticing that is reason enough.
Do I have to talk about my childhood?
Not unless it's useful to you. We start with what's going on now and what you'd like to feel different. The past only comes up if and when it's helpful.
How long are sessions?
Full sessions are 50 minutes, online, at a time that works for you. The first consultation is a free 15-minute call.
Do you work with men who are successful professionally but struggling personally?
Yes, this is a large part of the practice. Many of the men Jordan works with are doing well by every external measure and finding that something has become harder to carry underneath. Success can hide a lot, and you don't have to be in crisis to talk about it.
Is it confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between us, within the standard legal and ethical limits a Registered Psychotherapist works under.
What if it's not the right fit?
That's completely okay. There's no pressure to continue, and I'm glad to help point you toward someone who might be a better match.
Does Jordan have a business background?
Yes. Before training as a therapist, Jordan spent years in finance and in a chief-of-staff role working closely with senior leaders. It means you won't have to spend the first half of therapy explaining why work, responsibility, or ambition matter to you, that context is already understood.
Online or in person?
Sessions are entirely online, across Ontario, no commute, no waiting room, from somewhere you feel comfortable. Many men find it easier to open up from their own space.
